Co-op Advertising

Manufacturers provide incentives for your customers to buy merchandise in the form of manufacturer rebates.  But did you know that some manufacturers also provide funds which you can use to advertise this merchandise?

The amount of co-op advertising funds that go unused each year is substantial – $14 billion according to a recent Borrell Associates study. In addition, most co-op funds are being spent on traditional media despite a growing number of digital programs (search, email, display, etc.).

So why is there such a lack of co-op advertising participation, particularly with digital media? The problem is the confusion around the basics of co-op programs, pre-approvals and submission of co-op claims. The good news is our Co-Op Compliance Manager is there to handle every step to guarantee your claim is paid. Find out more about how Outdoor Sports Marketing can help you get more bang for your co-op dollars.

Did someone say free advertising dollars?

Co-op funds are usually calculated as a percent of the net invoiced dollars for full priced products shipped during the current calendar program year. Typically, funds not used for advertising during the current program year will not be carried over for use in the next program year.

Manufacturers change their co-op advertising funds policies from time to time, and the qualifications, rules and co-op claim processing can be complicated and time consuming. Let Outdoor Sports Marketing help you utilize your available co-op advertising funds on pre-approved direct mail advertising, and process your claims, all at no additional charge.
